Christian Sarmiento currently serves as the Regional Director for the Mexico and Central America Region. He was elected Regional Director in March 1999. The Sarmientos were born in the South American country of Colombia and were among the first Nazarene converts there. They came to the United States for Christian's preparation for the ministry in 1977. He attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and received the B.A. degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. He received the Masters of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rev. Gary Griffin has been pastoring in the Church of the Nazarene for twenty-three years with twenty-two of those years as an associate in music and administration. Almost nineteen years of ministry has been on the Eastern Michigan District. In July of 2004, Gary accepted God's call to plant a New Start church in Fowlerville, Michigan. His wife Joy and all three children, Heather, Nick and Heidi, have had active roles in making this ministry a success. Gary graduated from Olivet Nazarene College (now University) with a degree in Music Education. He was ordained as a deacon in Music in 1996 on the EMD. His passion is for sharing Christ through music and, more recently, preaching. His prayer is that Christ will be seen and heard through his music.

Check-in time is after 4 p.m. The retreat begins on Friday, with dinner at 5 p.m. and the first session beginning at 7 p.m. Hospitality fellowship will be held Friday and Saturday nights; seminars Saturday morning; activities and sports Saturday afternoon. Following Sunday School class and Morning Worship, the retreat will close Sunday at noon (dinner is not included.) This will allow you ample time to return to your home church for evening service. Casual clothes are in order. Dress clothes are recommended for the banquet on Saturday evening and for Sunday morning service.
