As the cold winter
months drag on, Eastside Mission continues to plug along,
helping to provide basic needs of Flint's Eastside. A big thank
you goes out to all of our faithful volunteers and donors. . .
without your help, our job would be much more difficult!
Speaking of the cold winter months, please keep us in mind if
you have any coats, or warm weather gear that is not being used.
Finally, can you believe that Easter is only 6 weeks away? If
you would like to sign up to help with our annual Easter
celebration dinner on Saturday,
April 3, please call 810-767-5312.
God bless!

Making
Christlike Disciples in the Nations
March Emphasis is Easter Offering and Nazarene World Week of Prayer:
Easter Offering:
The Easter Offering is for the World Evangelism Fund (WEF).
Traditionally, WEF is collected through two large offerings each
year—the Thanksgiving and Easter offerings. What is available to
help promote the Easter Offering? Stewardship Ministries provides a
multitude of resources to assist local churches in promoting the
Thanksgiving Offering for World Evangelism Fund (WEF). Offerings.
Promotional material specific to the Easter Offering is available to
be downloaded or printed, free of charge, and can be found on the
Easter Offering
page of the Stewardship Ministries website. Some of these
resources include posters, bulletin inserts, clip art, and
PowerPoint. Offering envelopes and posters to promote the World
Evangelism Fund are now available, free of charge, through the
Nazarene
Publishing House. The "HOPE Offering for World
Evangelism" envelope design will be used through 2009 and can be
ordered at any time. Any leftover envelopes can now be used in your
pew pocket to promote the World Evangelism Fund year round. The
envelope set-up and printing charges are free to all churches.
Nazarene World Week of Prayer
/ Sunday, February 28 - Saturday, March 6, 2010
The Nazarene World Week of Prayer is an annual event occurring
during the week that includes the World Day of Prayer (the first
Friday in March). During this week Nazarenes dedicate themselves to
interceding for our church and our world. Special requests are
provided for a regional prayer plan.
Coordinating with the interdenominational World Day of Prayer
(Friday, March 5), the Nazarene World Week of Prayer is envisioned
that this event will re-ignite prayer flames, deepen commitment to
prayer and fasting, and precipitate revival.
"Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you
great and mighty things, which you do not know."
Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)
Specific prayer requests for each region are featured on the Prayer
Mobilization Line during the Nazarene World Week of Prayer.
Haiti Update:
In
response to the earthquake and resulting humanitarian disaster in
Haiti, Word Action Curriculum has prepared a lesson for use. This
would be a very good opportunity to use this material at your next
NMI service. The material should take between 15-30 minutes to cover
and concludes with a call to prayer and action. Included in the
lesson is a link to helpful information, resources, and how to help.
Click on
www.nazarenemissions.org and click on education.
30
Hour Famine:
The
Nazarene 30 Hour Famine
powered by World Vision
is an incredible way to participate in what God is doing through
Christians in Malawi. Funds raised by Nazarene congregations will
specifically go to help children and families in the World Vision
and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries sponsored Mutendere Area
Development Project (ADP) in Mzimba, Malawi. Through this
partnership, farmers will receive training in sustainable
agricultural methods that will help provide food stability for
families and children.
To sign
your church up to be a part of the Nazarene 30 Hour Famine, simply
go to
www.ncmorg and click on 30 hour famine to get your materials.
You will also read about how the funds you raise will transform
lives in Malawi.
